"I was at the presentation you did at the Bats and Mitigation Conference and would just like to thank you for dispelling some of the myths about what works and what doesn't. It was refreshing to hear a guy with a practical background give his views".

Wildlife Mitigation/Compensation Design and Build Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire

We design and building mitigation/compensation for a variety of species (see our Related Document downloads); or we can work with your builder and provide scaled drawings of designs for self-build.

Recent work includes:

  • grilles for bat hibernation sites (former railway tunnels, ice-houses, lime kilns, and caves)

  • conversion of existing, redundant buildings for bat roosts

  • new barn design incorporating bat roosts/bat lofts/hibernation sites and secondary use, primarily sought for EPS licence applications

  • water vole mitigation for housing development

  • otter holts for conservation purposes

  • reptile and amphibian refugies

  • badger setts, where “des res” is necessary to encourage voluntary relocation

  • badger exclusion design and successful implementation

  • bird boxes including barn owl towers, swift boxes and sand martin condominiums

PPS9 sets out the Government's national policies on the protection of biodiversity and geological conservation through the planning system. The Government circular: Biodiversity and geological conservation - statutory obligations and planning within the system provided guidance on the application of the law in England relating to planning and nature conservation.

Our designs are proven and developed from any houses watching and learning from our target species. Look at examples of our work in Case Studies and Related Document downloads.
